Returning home for some military members means adjusting to a disability. For some who have aged with a service related disability, needs change over time. Whichever the case may be, there are programs to help make living in your home and staying independent possible.

Another option for home modification funding is the Sears Heroes at Home program and Rebuilding Together. The Sears Heroes at Home program provides support to military service members, veterans, and their families through joint efforts with various non-profit organizations. The focus of Rebuilding Together is to provide critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes at no cost to service recipients. The ability of these two programs to be used jointly only increases the service member’s ability to continue to live in the home they choose.
