We know it’s not easy. But we also believe in the life changing benefits of assistive technology. Our free device demonstrations and loans provide you a way to identify the best fits for your needs, or the needs of those you care for, so you can invest in the right tools for home, school, work, or play.
Device Demonstrations
Here’s how it works:
- Give us a call or fill out the contact us form located at the top of every page on this website.
- We’ll work with you to schedule a time that fits best for everyone.
- A demonstration usually lasts about an hour.
- A demonstration can include individuals, caregivers, professionals or all of the above.
- You can come to one of our demonstrations centers or we can work with you virtually.
- Demonstration Centers located in Fargo and Bismarck.
- Virtual demonstrations conducted over video chat service.
- Our AT Consultant will ask about your needs and show you assistive technology designed to help.
- Feel free to ask any questions you have during the demonstration.
- Our AT Consultant may have some suggestions based on their experience.
- We offer some programs to help people acquire devices they cannot afford.
- We know about many other organizations or agencies that can help you on your journey.
- That’s it. There’s no pressure. There’s no sale. We just help you Discover What’s Possible.
Are the demonstrations really free?
Yes. No strings attached.
What types of assistive devices can I try?
You name it, we probably have it (or something close). We have devices you can try that address:
- Low vision or blindness
- Hearing loss
- Memory loss (dementia)
- Safety at home – including alerts and monitoring
- Communication challenges
- Cooking and Eating
- Bathing, grooming and toileting
- Work spaces including computer access and ergonomics
- Lighting
- Switch adaptations
- Learning
- Smart home
- Play
Device Loans
Sometimes it helps to try out assistive technology where you plan on using it. That’s the purpose of the device loans. We let you borrow devices for a few weeks so you can see if they’ll truly work for you. Again, the idea is to allow you to try before you buy!
