At IPAT we are always looking for resources to help the people we serve. We create many resources ourselves, but sometimes it is awesome to not have to recreate the wheel. Recently I came across some great resources for people with low vision and blindness from the Washington State School for the Blind.
This website includes several resources including training manuals that are updated every 6 months, such as BrailleNote, Duxbury, Using the iPad with Visual Impairment, VoiceOver Mac, and Windows Access: JAWS. They have an updated list of educational iPad apps for preschool and early elementary aged children who are totally blind. In addition, you will find several adapted books for children who are blind made with Book Creator.
