This week marked a milestone for assistive technology in education as the newly formed Assistive Technology Builders (AT Builders) group gathered for their first in-person meeting at the Heritage Center in Bismarck.
The AT Builders initiative is a collaboration between North Dakota Assistive, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI), and public school educators, united by the mission to increase awareness and access to assistive technology (AT) in schools statewide.
A highlight of the day was a tour of ND Assistive’s demonstration center in Bismarck. Attendees got a firsthand look at innovative assistive technology in action. To sweeten the experience, the Brava smart oven was fired up to bake fresh muffins, showcasing how technology can simplify tasks and enhance independence.
Bravera Bank generously provided snacks including a meat and cheese tray from 3Be Meats.. Bravera employees Marcus Ulmer, an ND Assistive board member, and Amy Frison personally delivered the tray, adding a warm touch of community support.
