IPAT was recently asked to give a hands-on workshop to the North Dakota Vision Rehabilitation Specialists in the area of apps for vision and accessibility for the iPad/iPhone. Participants learned about apps that do everything from recognizing products to those that speak text aloud from a photograph. They learned about the great capacity that Apple Mobile products have right out of the box to provide full accessibility for vision loss.
For this training, I also put together a handout to help guide us through the presentation, provide basic accessibility instructions, and give links to the products discussed. I thought this might be a useful tool for others, as well. Please click here if you would like to download the document. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like a similar workshop for your group!
Wow! Awesome Resource, Thanks!
That’s amazing! You are the best!
You are welcome, Helen!
Great articale, but noticed you didn’t include any orientational/navigational apps and there are some excellent ones out there.
Hi Tim! Which orientation/navigation apps do prefer?
