Compression socks (or stockings) are a specialized hosiery designed to improve blood flow in your legs. They can can help with swelling, aching and heavy legs, and prevent blood clots. Although there are a number of benefits, these specialized socks can be difficult to put on and take off. Some trivial tips include: allowing lotion to dry before putting on the socks, using baby powder, or putting on rubber gloves for a better grip. However, there may be larger barriers to overcome. What if it is difficult to bend over? Little to no grip strength? Unable to properly align the foot or toes? There are a number of donning and removing devices available to assist with this process. Below are two great examples!
Jobst Stocking Donner
For those with limited mobility or grip strength, the Jobst Stocking Donner may be a simple fix. After placing the stocking on the donner, methodically pull up as the stocking slides over the leg. Refer to the below video for the process.

Sock-eez (Removal)
The Sock-eez is a wonderful device for removal of compression socks. You simply slide the tip of the Sock-eez between the sock and skin, and slowly push the sock down! The image below shows an excellent step-by-step view.
Although these are only two examples, many options exist. Contact your AT Consultant or professional to match a device for your needs!
I should really try and use this technique. I also have such a difficult time getting on compression socks.
