Did you know North Dakota has experts in modifying and customizing Assistive Technology?
North Dakota’s Life Skills and Transition Center service’s include Adaptive Equipment Services (AES). They are experts in thinking outside the box to make sure the assistive technology their clients use is safe and effective – and that often requires an adaptation to the AT.
AES Provides:
- Specialized mobility, seating, and adaptive equipment to promote personal independence, health, and safety
- The Mobile Project – staff members travel the state and bring equipment to homes or service sites to enhance accessibility
- A website to browse equipment for loan: nd.at4all.com
- Access to a plethora of tools, materials, and equipment to make modifications and customizations that would otherwise be difficult for the average person to acquire
- Skills and knowledge from years of experience in the field of adaptive equipment
- Staff members with Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) accreditation

This is Emily! She is working on customizing a wheel chair tray to make the perfect fit for her client.

Al is making sure this adaptive bike is road ready!

One of Al’s latest projects. He shortened the length of this bathing chair so the user could safely and comfortably use the device.

The AES shop has almost every tool you can imagine – including a 3D printer that is not pictured here.

AES has shelves and rooms full of miscellaneous items to customize and modify any piece of AT!
